Tap at Tammie Locklar’s Dance Studio is a disciplined and rhythmic dance form that creates vibrant, percussive rhythms through the dancer’s shoes. Our tap classes blend technique with creativity, allowing students to explore different styles and rhythms while developing musicality and precision.

Our Jazz class hones coordination, rhythm, strength, flexibility, and technique, while teaching basic steps and dynamic movement combinations. Dancers meet for an engaging, one-hour session each week, where they develop their skills and express their creativity.

Our Ballet class builds a strong foundation in grace, strength, technique, and discipline, blending ballet, modern, and jazz to emphasize the emotional connection to music.

Our Musical Theatre class, is designed for ages 8 and up, where dancers groove to the tunes of Broadway hits with lively choreography. Discover the joy of performing to beloved musical theatre songs while developing confidence and stage presence in a supportive and creative environment.

To join our Pointe program, dancers must have a minimum of four years of ballet training, and each Pointe class must be accompanied by a ballet class. Typically, we introduce Pointe work around 7th grade, sometimes earlier for those who are ready, after approval by our instructors. Pointe classes meet weekly for one hour, focusing on technique and artistic expression in ballet.

For 7th grade and up, our Technique class is a non-performance course designed to prepare students for Junior High and High School dance teams. This class focuses on honing the skills and techniques needed to excel in team auditions and performances.

Pre-school is a combination class, half hour of tap and a half hour of ballet during each class.
